Past and Present; Particle and Wave

“In disagreements with loved ones, only deal with the present. Do not bring up the past.”

Dalai Lama

Truth be told, I struggle with this every single day of my life! I have learned to use the past to recognize patterns and cycles to offer a greater perspective to heal and grow from. This makes me an amazing practitioner, and it truly has become apart of who I am.

However, I can see how my work as a healer and practitioner can seep into my personal relationships, and not be such a wonderful quality to experience. I have been on both sides of this equation to receive awareness of this phenomena. There is definitely a fine line between the particle and the wave so to speak. If we are harmonizing with another and we are aware and personally present within this harmony, there cannot be cause for disagreement in the first place.

Practical Soul-U-tion: Offer advice only when it is asked for. Otherwise – hold space, be present and Be Love.

How have you learned to effectively transition between, or to harmoniously incorporate the two?

Any other thoughts or ideas? I would love to hear from you!

  1. Like you I use the past to recognize patterns & cycles so that I may heal and grow. It took me longer to recognize that not everyone is where I am and, therefore, not open to looking at things in this manner. Knowing when to speak and when to remain silent has been a wonderful learning experience all on its own. What I have learned is to listen to that quite, non-intrusive voice for guidance when in this type of situation. Something else I’ve learned is if there is something that Spirit wants said to another person, it will come flowing out of my mouth with only a feeling afterwards of, “Where did that come from?” 😉
